"THE MORE"

11 November, 2008

The more generous we are,
the more joyous we become.
The more cooperative we are,
the more valuable we become.
The more enthusiastic we are,
the more productive we become.
The more serving we are,
the more prosperous we become.
The more outgoing we are,
the more helpful we become.
The more curious we are,
the more creative we become.
The more patient we are,
the more understanding we become.
The more persistent we are,
the more successful we become.

– William Arthur Ward

It once was – written in 2003

25 September, 2008

Gone,
Gone out of my life
Just as quickly as it came,
It left.
Nothing remains,
Only the memories,
They are all that is left.
Reminding me of what was
Just as if it had never been

But the memories remind me

The way I felt
The way my heart soared
Beautiful memories
and then
Reality
Nothing left

Only the hurt of betrayal
of being left behind
discarded
Gone.
As if it never was

Out of Time – written in 2008

23 September, 2008

I’m growing out of time
I know that I voluntarily helped you to carry your pain
I can see that I’ve hurt you
Even though we have not map of the future I realise
That you need to make your own mistakes
Even if it means losing your innocence
I am not your keeper I cannot protect you
You had everything I ever wanted and everything I never got
You walk away and don’t look back
I take my heart home to be mended where
I hear words in the darkness
See visions of the person I could be
I’m growing out of time

The calm settles – written in 2005

21 September, 2008

Time has passed
Feelings changed
more open
more me
Its not up to anyone else anymore
Its up to me
sometimes I go off track
sometimes I want things I can’t have
sometimes I have what I don’t want

Breathe in
breathe out

Enjoying my time with me
still wanting
still craving
but everything is as it should be

the calm has settled.

Time – written in 2004

20 September, 2008

Time makes us realise
what we’ve lost
and what we’ve gained
It makes us hold closer
that which we hold dear
And it helps us let go
of that which we need to

It makes us see
that which we did not
It makes us realise
that which we could not

It makes us realise that
which is as it is
even when its not always
as or how we want it to be
but it is always, always
just as it should be

My favourite Poem – by Robert Frost

20 September, 2008

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
and sorry i could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
And looked down on as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth.

Then took the other, as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black
Oh I kept the first for another day
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I –
I took the one less travelled by
And that has made all the difference

Letting go

16 September, 2008

By letting go, you free your heart,
Mind and soul
Allowing them to make peace
With themselves, with each other
And with the outside
Freedom
Relief
Liberation
Free, floating
At ease within and without
Harmony all round
Beautiful
At peace with love, life and everything that surrounds us.
