An email I received today…

1 October, 2008

This Incident has been confirmed.

A man came over and offered his services as a painter to a female putting petrol in her car and left his card.

She said no ,but accepted his card out of kindness and got in the car.

The man then got into a car driven by another gentleman.

As the lady left the service station, she saw the men following her out of the station at the same time.

Almost immediately, she started to feel dizzy and could not catch her breath.

She tried to open the window and realized that the odour was on her hand; the same hand which accepted the card from the gentleman at the petrol station. She then noticed the men were immediately behind her and she felt she needed to do something at that moment.

She drove into the first driveway and began to honk her horn repeatedly to ask for help.

The men drove away but the lady still felt pretty bad for several minutes after she could finally catch her breath.

Apparently, there was a substance on the card that could have seriously injured her.

This drug is called ‘BURUNDANGA’ and it is used by people who wish to incapacitate a victim in order to steal from or take advantage of them.

This drug is four times more dangerous than the date rape drug and is transferable on simple cards.

So take heed and make sure you don’t accept cards at any given time alone or from someone on the streets.

This applies to those making house calls and slipping you a card when they offer their services .

PLEASE SEND THIS E-MAIL ALERT TO EVERY FEMALE YOU KNOW”

I don’t know if these things are real or not… my question is this… what kind of world are we living in where we are told to NOT TRUST anyone! How sad is that?

No wonder I find the little things to excite me!!! You can see Sanity’s post on this! Is this why we’re feeling guilty at excitement over the little things?  Because we’re told not to believe in the good?

These emails really piss me off. Yes, forewarned is forearmed… but seriously… Not everyone is out to get us ALL the time! Can’t we just have a little faith?

  1. I have to agree with you, each time I receive one of these I click delete and then reply to the sender that I don’t need it. Sad

  2. It is sad; it creates more division among us as humans instead of more unity; as a parent, it is so scary to know that there are those out there that would victimize my child; yet I want her to be free to enjoy life….not live imprisoned due to fear….. thank you for this!!

  3. I wish we all could be free of this… no wonder we walk around like zombie’s… to scared to get out of our boxes… and we lock ourselves behind barred entrances… it really is crazy! I want to run in a field of daisies! and not worry about where I left my cellphone, or where I put my handbag! I want to believe that it will all be there when I get back. Is this to optimistic? I believe we will get back there one day… maybe not in my life time… but one day!

  4. It is very scary indeed, but I can not see the point in us hiding and getting too scared of the”threats” out on the streets.
There will always be people with a less good doing on their minds walking the streets. We just need to look a little bit closer, think one more time and take care of ourselves – and the people around you.
    But not hide.
No point in hiding. Instead go out with your head high, and people will follow. The more GOOD people out – the less bad!

And yeah, i like your blog very much – feel we might be thinking in the same direction ;)

  5. This has been debunked by Snopes.com

Have you noticed that all these “warnings” are about a woman? It’s all about scaring us little ladies into staying home.

  6. I’m sure if this were true the main streem media would have made a big deal out of it… or at least blamed it on one of the presidential candidates for not controlling substances that harm women and girls.

Don’t buy in to that guilt thing. It minimizes the fun part of enjoying. ;)

  7. well i guess your not going to hear any about men becuase women don’t usually attack men and usually if they do nobody cares lol
